PTE Academic Advantages

Computer-based test with faster results (typically 48 hours vs 13 days for IELTS). The scoring is AI-based, which means more consistency. PTE is generally considered easier for students who are strong in reading and listening. The test can be booked with shorter lead times and is available year-round.

IELTS Advantages

More universally recognized worldwide. The speaking section is face-to-face with an examiner, which some students prefer. IELTS has more study materials and practice resources available. Some universities and visa categories specifically require IELTS.
